Class Action Settlement in Dog Treats Case

January 15, 2015 in Aerowood Animal Hospital

If you incurred expenses related to Waggin’ Train or Canyon Creek Ranch brand dog treat products containing ingredients imported from China, you are probably eligible for reimbursement from a class action settlement. The companies have created a $6.5 million dollar settlement fund from which pet owners may receive a cash payment of up to 100% of documented economic damages. Eighty-six dog treat products are covered in the settlement. These are not just chicken jerky treats. Products made from ham, duck, sweet potatoes, and other ingredients are included.

Economic damage means the expenses you incurred related to your purchase or your pet’s consumption of the treats. This includes veterinary screening or treatment bills and other expenses related to your pet’s illness and/or death. In addition to compensation for expenses supported by documentation, you may also receive up to a $300 payment per pet for reasonable economic damages for which you do not have supporting documentation.
